Did kanye
suffer from the sophomore jinx? (Three and a half stars)

In my opinion I think so.
I kind of have a love/hate thing going on with Kanye. I love alot of
the mans beats but Im not really all that fond of his rapping and
attitude in general. I was hoping that this album I would love more
than hate. I did really enjoy his first one, some of my favorite cuts
from that one were “Two Words”, “Get Em
High”, and “Spaceship” ,so I was
expecting to get some more hot joints like that on this one. When I
took a listen I was kind of disappointed. First of for the lead single
“gold digger” i think is a corny ass song. I don't
like it what so ever, poor Ray Charles should be rolling over in his
grave from this one. The “cheese” continues on with
tracks “Mama” , ”Celebration”,
and ”Heard Em say” these tracks are better suited
for a R&B album. I just weren't feeling them .But I did like
songs like “crack music” (with game verse) and the
southern flavored “Drive Slow”. My favorites on
this cd was the “Diamonds Remix (with Jay-Z)”,
”Gone” ,”Touch the Sky” ,and
“We Major” even though I felt that track ran a
little too long but its still rap goodness. As for the rest of the
tracks they were pretty much filler will probably fast forward when
listening to this cd. Over all I don't see where all the hype for this
cd was? I believe it's a little above average at best not as good as
“college dropout”. This cd will get a few listens
but definitely not a permanent fixture in my cd player or ipod.
