All the polls have Obama winning.  So if we go by polls alone we could place him in the White house today. But hold up my friend, we actually have to have the election. Now that’s the scary part.  We have seen miscounts on votes and we have seen the Republican party take a election.  John Daily joke from the cuff saying that the only why they could win now is by “magic.” Magic indeed!  We still have a lot of other factors that main stream media seems to overlook a mine field.  The one that seems to stand out the the most to me….

Is the RACE CARD.  It is actually a good thing in one way because once it is played it would polarize the political race.  It would actually get everyone away from the issues that are tearing this country apart. High unemployment, Wall street failing, America’s bad image abroad and the soldiers dying for no reason. [side bar: How did we find Sadam in a fox hole within a month but we cant find a 6’6 dialysis  patient? Simple: wrong people looking]. Those are the issues that concern most Americans and I’m glad that the Obama’s camp has been able to keep main stream America focused on his stand. But lets be real everyone still sees a Black man (even though his Bi-racial that is what everyone sees) vs. a White man. I’ve heard in my office of 700 employees and I’ve seen it in the “Black” media. Its just funny to me that main stream media is not talking about it. They are stepping around it like a mind bomb. Every now and then it pops up like last Sunday the Orlando Sentinel ran an article where it addressed the Jewish vote in Florida.  One of the leaders in the community spoke off record. She said that it really surprised her that so many people in her community were racist.  They are not voting for Obama because he is black. The author went on to use other words that are used when they see a black person- untrustworthy, thief, lazy.

It was no surprise to me when I heard this. I’m Black male in America and I’ve done everything that they tell young Americans to do. Graduate high school, go to the military, finish college, get a good job, get married and pay your taxes. I’ve never been prison but I’ve walked past white women in my “Army of One” t-shirt or my FSU Alumni shirt  with my kids and they would hold their purse tight. Like I’m going to rob them with my young sons there. But hey this is America and the sad thing about it is that I’m use to it. I just hope for a change one day.

I really want to believe in the dream that MLK spoke of when he said that a man should be judged for the content of his mind not for the color of his skin.  I see that with Obama.  He’s a Harvard grad, was President of the Harvard Law review, worked for little in communities that needed a lot, and than becoming a Senator.  The guy is against a machine that has ravaged this great country of ours for the last 8 years but he is welling to take on the burden of taking this great country of ours back to where it once was. A proud independent  country.  In the end I’m glad that the media is not talking about race because once he wins they will say that Obama won not a black man won. They will know in the back of their mind that a black saved the country.  Now when I walk past that lady that holds her purse I will not say anything but I will smile knowing that he’s the President.
